Transition to improve flexibility, collaboration, and workflow efficiency

HCSS has announced a web-based version of its HeavyBid platform, currently in Beta testing and set for a 2026 launch. The announcement was made during the keynote session at the company's annual Users Group Meeting (UGM).
HeavyBid, first introduced in 1986, is widely used by civil and infrastructure contractors for construction estimating. The transition to a web-based platform aims to improve flexibility, collaboration, and workflow efficiency while maintaining support for the existing desktop version.
The updated HeavyBid allows estimators to manage bids earlier in the pre-construction phase, track multiple bids, and customize project breakdowns. It also includes real-time collaboration features, audit trails, and instant cost calculations. The web-based version eliminates IT maintenance requirements and is designed to appeal to a younger, tech-savvy workforce.
HCSS stated that the transition to a cloud-based platform aligns with its goal of continuous innovation while ensuring users retain access to existing tools.
