Australian water utility selects Blackline Safety in $1.4M deal

Blackline Safety Corp. (TSX: BLN), a renowned leader in connected safety technology, has recently inked a substantial deal valued at $1.4 million with a prominent water utility provider based in Australia.

This agreement follows a rigorous third-party analysis that identified Blackline Safety devices as the premier lone worker solution available globally. Impressed by the findings, the corporation selected Blackline along with their Australian Channel Partner to equip their workforce with Blackline’s lone worker safety app, Loner Mobile, and G7c cloud-connected devices. The G7c, acclaimed for its array of features including SOS latch, fall and no-motion detection, and real-time connectivity, serves as a vital lifeline in the event of emergencies.

“Our devices are particularly well suited to the utility industry, including water and wastewater. People in these fields are at elevated risk when they go to work," says Peter Attalla, vice president of international sales at Blackline Safety.

Utility industry personnel encounter various hazards during their work, ranging from gas exposures and confined spaces to potential falls and adverse weather conditions. Additionally, they often work alone in areas with limited cellular coverage, further exacerbating the risks.

“More and more utility companies around the world are opting for Blackline devices because they want the best to protect their people,” claims Attalla. “We’re noticing that utility companies want this protection from a single provider who offers a turnkey solution with no expensive infrastructure or complicated setup—Blackline’s solutions tick all the boxes.”

This latest agreement marks the continuation of a series of successful partnerships between Blackline Safety and water utility providers. Presently, Blackline Safety devices safeguard half of the water and wastewater companies in the United Kingdom.

In addition to the provision of devices, the Australian water utility provider has opted for three years of monitoring services by Blackline’s Safety Operations Center (SOC). The SOC, operating 24/7, stands ready to respond to emergencies within seconds.

Heather Melder, director of the safety operations center at Blackline Safety, says “Blackline products, combined with our SOC monitoring, set the standard for the safest lone worker solution on the market. We’ve raised the bar in ensuring workers are safe while on the job—they’re protected because they’re connected.”

With this partnership, Blackline Safety Corp. reaffirms its commitment to enhancing workplace safety globally, particularly within industries prone to inherent risks such as utilities
