Worker injured at NextStar plant construction site

One worker was injured at the NextStar Energy battery plant construction site in Windsor, Ont. last week, according to a report.

A steel beam fell on the foot of an employee of FM Sylvan Canada Ltd., CBC reported, citing a spokesperson from Ontario’s Ministry of Labour.

The ministry was informed of the incident on Tuesday, Nov. 26, according to the CBC report.

Upon notice, a ministry inspector went to the site and met with representatives from the employer and worker groups.

The inspector also initiated an investigation, and that is ongoing, according to CBC.

The ministry has not issued any orders or requirements to date in relation to the incident, according to the report.
