Worker dies after being hit by piece of machinery

One worker died in an industrial incident in Ontario on Monday, according to reports.

The incident happened at the Integrity HD worksite on Devon Drive in Windsor on Monday.

The province’s Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development responded to the incident, said Manuel Alas-Sevillano of the ministry, according to CBC.

"A worker was fatally injured by a piece of machinery," said Alas-Sevillano in the CBC report.

“Our condolences go out to the family and colleagues of the worker,” Alas-Sevillano said, according to Windsor Star.

One order and one requirement have been issued to the employer, reported CTV News.

The ministry has assigned an investigator to the case and the investigation is ongoing, according to the reports.

Privacy legislation prevents the ministry from sharing any personal information, such as the worker’s age or medical information, noted Windsor Star.
