OHS said the worker was pinned between equipment
An employee from Rangeland RV and Trailer Sales (Rangeland), an RV and trailer dealer, has died following a workplace accident in Calgary, as reported in an article by CTV News.
According to a statement released by Rangeland, the worker sustained the fatal injury at its dealership in Calgary, which was located in Rocky View County. While the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) were able to respond shortly, the employee later died at the hospital.
The EMS stated that it was able to respond to the scene which was near Dwight McLellan Trail and Crosspointe Road shortly after 10:30 am. The worker’s family was notified about the incident while the worker was taken to the hospital in a life-threatening condition.
The Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) said that it was investigating the incident and had learned that the employee was found to have been pinned between equipment.
“Out of respect for the employee’s family in a time of profound shock and grief, Rangeland RV and Trailer is not providing further detail at this time,” the dealership said in its statement.
“Our focus is on supporting the family and our team members, as well as participating fully in the investigation into what happened,” it said further.
