Man charged in pizza restaurant worker's death

A man from Alberta has been charged in the death of a 24-year-old pizza restaurant worker, according to a report.

The incident happened on Saturday, when a pickup truck smashed into a building in Calgary, according to a report.

It happened at the Boston Pizza in Fort McMurray just before lunch time, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said, according to a report from The Canadian Press.

The Ford F350 caused significant structural damage to the building, located at Franklin Ave. and Richards St.

The 28-year-old driver is charged with criminal negligence causing, according to a report from CP posted on the Winnipeg Free Press.

The truck struck the woman, who sustained injuries. She died later in hospital, according to the CP report posted on the Toronto Star.

The driver and lone occupant of the truck remains in custody of the RCMP. Charges are pending, according to the report.

Investigators with the RCMP attended the scene.
