On Jan. 29, a double fatality occurred on one of Ontario’s logging roads.
Pierre Morin, 43, of Chelmsford, Ont., and Stéphane Desaulniers, 28, of Quebec died in an incident involving a logging truck and an excavator on Dunbar Road, a logging road off Highway 144, north of Sudbury.
Early reports from the Ontario Provincial Police suggest a logging tractor-trailer became stuck in a ditch. An excavator attempted to help remove the trailer. During the set-up process, the excavator slid down an incline and pinned the two workers located in front of the tractor-trailer.
The Ministry of Labour is currently investigating.
