Construction worker dies after getting injured in workplace

A construction worker in British Columbia died earlier this week.

The death came following a “workplace injury” on Wednesday at a construction site located near the 1400 block of Pinehurst Place in Langford, according to the West Shore branch of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

At approximately 12:50 p.m. West Shore RCMP attended a call of an unresponsive male at the site.

“Police and BC Emergency Health Services attended the scene and applied life-saving measures. Unfortunately, the victim, who was a construction site employee in his mid-20’s, succumbed to his injuries at the scene,” said Cpl. Nancy Saggar, media relations officer, West Shore RCMP.

The police have notified both WorkSafeBC and the BC. Coroner’s Service about the construction worker’s death.

“West Shore RCMP extends their condolences to the friends and family of the deceased man,” said Saggar.

No further details are available as the police are continuing their investigation.
