The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) has released a new poster, "Don't Let Safety Slip", to help workplaces prevent slips, trips and falls.
More than 42,000 Canadians are injured in work-related falls each year, representing about 17 per cent of lost-time injuries across the country. Surprisingly, around 66 per cent of falls happen on the same level, caused by slips and trips.
Employers can display this awareness poster throughout your workplace. CCOHS encourages professionals to make sure they wear proper footwear, practice good housekeeping, check your flooring, and watch out for potential hazards to reduce the risk of injuries.
This poster is printed double-sided, with English on one side and French on the other.
Every poster produced by CCOHS undergoes several stages of review. As part of this review, representatives from government, employers, and labour are requested to comment on draft copies of CCOHS documents for technical accuracy and readability.
The poster will start shipping in early January 2014.
