Ministry of Labour issues stop work order to Residence Inn
A Toronto area hotel has been issued nine orders, one stop work order and two requirements by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development after a worker was hurt on the job on Sunday.
First responders were called to the Residence Inn by Marriott Toronto Airport shortly after 9 a.m. for a workplace injury and when they arrived the employee did not have vital signs.
Toronto Fire told CBC News firefighters performed CPR until paramedics took over. The patient was transported to hospital in critical condition. Their status is currently unknown.
The ministry issued a statement to Canadian Occupational Safety saying the worker was injured while operating equipment.

Inspectors attended the scene on Sunday and issued one requirement to the employer, Residence Inn by Marriott Toronto Airport.
On Monday, three ministry inspectors and an engineer returned to the hotel to continue investigating.
“Nine orders, one stop work order, and one requirement were issued to the employer, Residence Inn by Marriott Toronto Airport,” reads the ministry statement.
The ministry’s investigation is ongoing.
