Fionet Platform now offers expanded COVID-19 capabilities
Canadian medtech company, Fio Corporation has enhanced its Fionet offering, a technology to expand the capability of frontline healthcare workers to combat COVID-19.
Its platform, Fionet, has previously helped various countries manage biothreats such as HIV, malaria, dengue, and Ebola.
Fionet can help the COVID-19 pandemic beyond medical centres and labs to thousands of frontline health posts, such as pharmacies, clinics, airports, and workplaces.
"Fionet enables everyday healthcare workers deliver expert-level diagnostic testing and triage at frontline health posts. In real time, supervisors can remotely see and guide frontline healthcare activity. Public health officials can manage responses and resources to new levels of precision and promptness. And in the process, it digitizes all frontline activity," said Dr. Michael Greenberg, CEO of Fio Corporation.
The platform reads rapid diagnostic tests in seconds. Fionet operates with 3rd-party databases and electronic-health-record (EHR) systems.
"To protect individual jobs and the national economy, the question is not only who is sick, but also who is well and can safely work," says Shlomit Dekel, co-founder and Chief Business Development Officer of Fio Corporation. "At pharmacies or hospitals, personnel can be tested for immunity to the virus. At office tower entrances, personnel can be tested daily and feel secure that everyone else inside also tested negative."
