Liner designed to protect workers from scorching heat and sun rays
In response to the alarming statistics revealing heat as the leading cause of weather-related deaths in the United States, STUDSON, a safety helmet manufacturer, has unveiled a groundbreaking solution.
The company now offers a chemical-free cooling helmet liner, complete with a nape cover and cooling towel, designed to provide wearers with protection from scorching heat and harmful sun rays. The secret behind this innovation? Simple water activation.
In collaboration with Mission, the newly developed helmet liner boasts long-lasting cooling technology without the need for chemicals. It also features UPF-50 sun protection, ensuring wearers stay cool for up to two hours after each rinse. These accessories are a perfect match for the forthcoming STUDSON SHK-1 and SHK-1 Full-Brim safety helmets, scheduled for release this fall.
The SHK-1 helmets incorporate KOROYD welded polymer tubes, primarily composed of air, which facilitates increased airflow and sweat evaporation around the wearer's head. Recent thermal lab studies by KOROYD indicate that safety helmets integrated with KOROYD technology can reduce the heat index by up to 8 degrees Fahrenheit (4.5 degrees Celsius) when compared to traditional EPS internal helmet constructions, thus significantly mitigating the risk of heat-related stress.
