Oldham, an Industrial Scientific Company and global provider of fixed gas detection equipment and services, has announced that its iTrans fixed-gas monitors are now fully compatible with its WX series controllers. This new compatibility makes the WX-iTrans combination even more versatile and cost-effective. The WX series consists of three controllers: WX4 (four-channel controller), the WX16 (16-channel controller) and the WX64 (64-channel controller). All WX controllers can be configured to receive and transmit gas readings wirelessly, providing substantial wiring cost savings and application flexibility, the company said. Other features include RS485 ports, programmable relays, a backlit LCD screen and 24-hour data logging. The WX64 also has a convenient embedded Web page that enables remote viewing and configuration of all 64 channels via a standard web browser. Additionally, the WX series controllers offer the convenience of communicating seamlessly with each other via their analog, digital or wireless signals. This provides the flexibility for local area controllers to communicate their readings back to a primary alarm controller. iTrans fixed-point gas monitors employ an intelligent electronics platform to provide one or two points of detection from a single head for maximum flexibility, superior performance and lower installation costs. With the ability to monitor any combination of gases for a specific environment, the iTrans utilizes industry-proven "smart" sensor technology and safety features such as sensor recognition, all enclosed within an explosion-proof aluminum or stainless steel housing. Optional on-board relays give the monitor the added ability of stand-alone operation, activating alarms, horns or flashlights. The units also feature simple, non-intrusive calibration, ultra-bright LED display, programmable alarms, and on-board sensor life indicators.
