The Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Act review committee is seeking feedback from individuals and organizations on their opinions, concerns and experiences with the workers’ compensation system.
Interested stakeholders can submit their comments either through written submissions or by attending a public hearing.
“The review process provides an opportunity for injured workers, employers, employees and the general public to share their experiences and make recommendations to keep the Workers’ Compensation Act current, fair and responsive,” said Labour Relations and Workplace Safety Minister Don Morgan. “The government believes that stakeholder feedback is important for ensuring our legislation is still working for Saskatchewan people and we encourage all interested parties to provide feedback for this review.”
Legislation requires a review be conducted at least every four years to ensure that Saskatchewan’s workers’ compensation system reflects the changing needs of workers, employers and communities. The last review was initiated in 2010 and the final report was presented in 2011.
A review committee has been appointed and will consult with workers and employers prior to making recommendations for improving the workers’ compensation system.
