Worker’s hand came into contact with pull saw
Nelson Lumber Company from Morinville, Alta. has been fined $95,000, inclusive of the 15 per cent victim fine surcharge, for an incident that occurred July 14, 2015.
A worker was using a pull saw to cut some pieces of lumber when the worker’s hand came into contact with the saw blade, causing a serious injury.
Nelson Lumber Company pled guilty to Section 13(1)(a) of the Alberta Regulation, failure to ensure work was done by a competent worker if the work may endanger a worker.
