Inquest scheduled into death at construction site

An inquest has been scheduled into the death of David Miskie who died from injuries sustained during an accident at a construction site in Mississauga, Ontario.

On December 5th, 2017, Miskie was working in the area of Lakeshore Road West and Pine Avenue North, where residential construction project was under way.

According to local news reports, Miski was using a forklift to deliver construction materials to the site. The forklift flipped over and he died at the scene.

An obituary for Miskie says he lived in Utopia, Ontario near Barrie. “He was always happy to lend a hand and bend an ear. He loved books and muscle cars and his truck. David will be greatly missed by his community.”

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding the incident and a jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths in similar circumstances.

Approximately three witnesses will testify over the course of two days beginning on Monday April 11th.  Dr. Richard McLean will be the presiding officer and Kim Motyl will be inquest counsel.
