Simone is a Registered Nurse working in the Emergency Department. She is currently pursing my Occupational Health and Safety certificate. This is to help her with her long-term goal of being an Occ. Health Nurse. Simone says that being in the E.D has opened her eyes to the many hazards in the workplace. When staff are in life saving mode, they sometimes run in to help patients with little regard to safety, and heath and safety becomes an afterthought. Simone aims to be a catalyst for change: teaching and practicing health and safety wellness where this becomes a lifestyle and not an effort. When she am not working or in school, Simone is a mommy to two energetic boys, or on the phone for hours with her friends.
