Blackline Safety introduces AlertLink

Blackline Safety Corp. (TSX: BLN), a prominent provider of connected safety technology, has launched the new AlertLink feature for its EXO and G7 devices. This feature aims to improve safety communication and emergency response efficiency.

AlertLink provides proximity-based warnings that alert employees to potential hazards, aiding in faster evacuations and incident management. This feature was developed in response to feedback from Blackline's customer advisory panel, which emphasized the need for improved industrial safety measures.

The feature has already received positive feedback from Blackline Safety Channel partners. Shawn Todd, general manager of American Safety Services, says, “implementing AlertLink has significantly enhanced the notification process for on-site personnel during high gas events, leading to quicker response times.”

AlertLink allows a Blackline device to share real-time alerts with nearby workers within a radius of up to 5,000 meters (16,000 ft). When an event such as high gas levels, gas sensor overlimit, a fall, no motion, or emergency SOS is detected, a message is sent to all devices within the defined radius. Monitoring personnel also receive the alert, enabling remote-triggered evacuations and detailed information sharing with emergency responders.

A U.S. energy company in the Permian Basin contributed feedback during AlertLink's development. A company representative noted, “Immediate communication of incidents to nearby workers enables faster response to issues like falls and gas exposures, enhancing safety for our teams.”

AlertLink is available for Blackline G7 and EXO devices on both monitored and self-monitored plans. The cloud-based system ensures that G7 and EXO devices automatically receive the AlertLink firmware update without user intervention. Customers can activate the feature by logging into Blackline Live, the company's cloud-based software platform.

The EXO area monitor, designed for rapid deployment and featuring built-in cellular and satellite connectivity, provides real-time data and alarms. The wearable G7 device offers multi-gas detection, SOS latch, fall and no motion detection, two-way voice, and real-time connectivity, serving as a crucial lifeline during emergencies.
