Occupational Health and Safety, police investigating incident
A man in his 40s died on the job in Alberta on Sunday night, according to reports.
The incident happened at 19 Aero Drive N.E. in Calgary. First responders were called to a business at around 6:40 pm, according to reports.
Police said the death involved an incident with tires during truck maintenance, reported both CTV News and Global News.
The victim did not need to be extricated, CTV News noted, citing the Calgary Fire Department, which also responded to the incident.
The worker died on the scene.
On Monday, police tape was still up and wrapped around semi-trucks with the company logo Onway Transport Inc. on them. CTV News said it has reached out to Onway Transport to confirm if the death was one of their employees.
Occupational Health and Safety and the Calgary Police Service are now investigating the worker’s death.
