Restaurant worker’s homicide under investigation by Occupational Health and Safety

One restaurant worker in Alberta died in a homicide last week, and the provincial Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is investigating the incident, according to reports.

The incident happened on Wednesday in the area of 101st Street and 102nd Avenue in Edmonton.

Police officers were called to a weapons complaint in a parkade at around 12:15 that day.

“Upon arrival, officers located a male with significant injuries,” said Edmonton Police, according to a CTV News report.

A restaurant worker was allegedly fatally injured by a worker from a logistics/delivery company, according to another CTV News report.

OHS spokesperson Shanna Schulhauser said that the investigation remains active, reported CBC.

Schulhauser declined to share the names of the employers that the victim and accused worked for.

However, Edmonton police, last week, announced that 40-year-old Edgar Wesker was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Jashandeep Maan, noted CBC.
