Construction worker struck by vehicle in alleged road rage

A construction worker in Ontario was injured following an alleged road rage last week.

The incident happened on Aug. 24, when a 60-year-old male driver was passing through the construction area in Cedar Street, Brockville.

The driver disobeyed signs and traffic controllers at the construction site, according to a report from The Recorder and Times.

“One of the workers attempted to stop the vehicle, which led to a verbal dispute between the driver and construction worker. The driver abruptly fled at a high rate of speed while knocking one of the workers to the ground,” police said, according to the report.

The worker sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were able to locate the driver and arrested him at around 2:30 p.m. He has been charged with dangerous driving and failure to stop after an accident, reported CTV News.

The driver was “released with conditions,” according to The Recorder and Times. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
