MSA has introduced the Fas-Trac III Ratchet Suspension designed to improve comfort, retention and stability. Developed with input from hundreds of customers, the new suspension was preferred by 92 per cent of users over what they were currently wearing, found a survey by MSA. The lower nape strap improves retention; it also adjusts for a customized fit at the back of the head. Three levels of nape adjustment allow desired fit, without interfering with line of sight or other protective gear, such as earmuffs and safety glasses. The ratchet offers smooth rotation with a secure hold. The graspable knob can be easily adjusted - even with a gloved hand. A comfort pad separates the inside of the ratchet from the back of the head, cradling the head while encouraging airflow. There are no metal parts used in the manufacturing of the suspension. The large sweat-wicking surface area covers the suspension headband and user’s forehead for added comfort. An optional sweatband accessory helps remove moisture and can be installed while the suspension is assembled in the helmet. The suspension is currently available in the following MSA protective helmets: V-Gard (Caps and Full Brim Hats), V-Gard GREEN, V-Gard 500, SmoothDome, Thermalgard Caps and Topgard (Caps and Full Brim Hats).
