Product designed for automated operation of on-site power generators
Russelectric, A Siemens Business, a manufacturer specializing in power control systems and automatic transfer switches, introduces its Prime Power Systems designed for the automated operation of on-site power generators, catering to a facility's complete power requirements. These systems serve as the primary power source for facilities, utilizing generator paralleling controls to ensure active synchronization and soft loading control of engine generators according to the load demands.
All of Russelectric's Prime Power systems carry UL listing, feature programmable logic controller (PLC) system controls, and possess supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) capabilities.
In prime power applications, engine generators are activated in response to the connected load. When the load surpasses a predetermined threshold, the Russelectric Prime Power System automatically initiates additional generators, synchronizes them with the generator bus, and distributes the load evenly among the running generators. Conversely, if the load decreases to a predetermined level, surplus generators are automatically disengaged from the bus and shut down, reverting them to automatic standby mode.
