Levitt-Safety has introduced the Diphoterine solution which is designed to treat corrosive splashes in the eyes. Diphoterine is an active scientific rinsing method that provides the important mechanical removal of the corrosive but as it is a chelating solution, it has the ability to capture and absorb basic and acidic molecules bringing them back to the safe pH range within seconds, says the manufacturer. Diphoterine solution is also designed to be hypertonic, meaning it will create a reverse flow out and away from tissue cells thus preventing or dramatically reducing the injury and subsequent long-term disability. Diphoterine solution is Health Canada approved as a Class 2 medical device. www.levitt-safety.com.
