David is approaching 40 years' experience as a safety professional in the municipal, construction, mining and industrial sectors where he has successfully developed, implemented, maintained and consulted on safety programs for a variety of employers in both public and private settings. Past employers have included a major road and bridge builder, a steel fabricator and a regional municipality's water and wastewater treatment operation, all of which have led him to his current position as a Health & Safety Consultant with Public Services Health & Safety Association (PSHSA) - a hazard prevention position he has been striving for his entire life. David's work experience across multiple sectors has provided him with valuable resources to assist clients in recognizing workplace hazards and managing risk by implementing effective controls to ultimately prevent injuries and illnesses.
Proficient at developing and facilitating occupational health and safety training courses using various adult education techniques to ensure the effective transfer of knowledge to learners, David also provides tailored guidance and workplace auditing to his clients. David holds a variety of hazard-specific certifications as well as post-secondary certificates in Health & Safety Labour Studies and Adult Education.
